Attestation of Contracts and Official Documents by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The purpose of attesting certificates and documents in the State of Qatar is to officially verify the authenticity of the seal and signature on the document, whether issued inside or outside Qatar. This is done by submitting the documents to the relevant ministries within the country and abroad, as well as to embassies and consulates, to ensure their official recognition.

There are two types of documents that may require attestation in the State of Qatar:

Internal Documents (For Use Within Qatar):

Foreign companies and entities, whether newly entering the Qatari market or already established, that hold official documents issued outside the State of Qatar and wish to use them within Qatar, must have these documents attested by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure their acceptance by government authorities, ministries, banks, embassies, or any other official entity within Qatar.

External Documents (For Use Outside Qatar):

Foreign companies and entities, whether newly entering the Qatari market or already established, that hold official documents issued in the State of Qatar and wish to use them outside Qatar, must have these documents attested by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure their international recognition and acceptance by government authorities, ministries, banks, embassies, or any other official entity outside Qatar.

There are two types of documents that may require authentication in the State of Qatar:

Company Formation Contracts:

• Contracts for the formation companies
• Founding partnership agreements

Commercial Register:

• Commercial registration certificate
• Commercial register updates

Legal Contracts:

• Sales and purchase contracts
• Commercial lease agreements
• Other legal contracts for companies

Licenses and Permits:

• Business licenses
• Operational permits and other official authorizations

Employee Contracts:

• Employment contracts for local and foreign staff
• Seasonal or part-time contracts

Agencies and Authorizations:

• Administrative and legal authorizations
• Commercial agencies

Financial and Audited Reports:

• Annual financial statements
• Auditor reports

Partnership and Alliance Agreements:

• Local and international partnership agreements
• Strategic alliance contracts

Intellectual Property Documents:

• Trademark registration
• Patents
• Copyrights

Other Banking and Commercial Documents:

• Letters of credit and bank guarantees
• Official financial documents of companies
